Viewing a Puzzle

When viewing a single puzzle your screen will look similar to below. This screen is full of information and options for you.
At the top, we will display the name and release year of the puzzle. Name, which, is a mandatory field when adding puzzles will always be present, whereas non-mandatory fields, such as release year and others, will only be present if available.
Below, we will display the name of the artist. You will notice that the name is underlined, which, means you can click/tap this information. If you do, you will see a list of all puzzles by this artist.
In the exact, same way, the Brand of the puzzle is displayed on the third line with an underline, together with the number of pieces and the real number of pieces. The difference between the 2 is that while some puzzles may be said to be a 1000-piece puzzle, they may, in fact, and reality, be 1002 pieces.
Under the Brand name, we display the Brand logo. IPDb only displays logos from brands where we have written permission from them agreeing we can display their logo. So sometimes the logo is there, sometimes not. Fortunately, most brands will allow us to use their logo.

The next piece of information is the image; we only display one image in the dialogue. We call the image we display for the main image, and normally it is the image frontmost when inserting and editing puzzles.
To view all images for a puzzle, and there can be many, you can click/tap on the image in the dialogue, and you will get a full-screen image viewer to see a better full image.

In the upper-left corner of the image viewer, you can see that you are currently watching image number 1 out of 8. You can move between these 8 images using the left/right arrows in the centre position of the screen.
In the upper right corner is a X button, to close the viewer and return to viewing the detailed view of the puzzle.
In the lower-right corner, you will see a main image selection button. If you click/tap this button, it indicates that you prefer to see this image when viewing the puzzle. This means that you can personalise viewing this puzzle to your wishes. The selected main image will appear in the Listview and, in the detail view, as well as in any other place where a picture for this puzzle is shown.
To see details in the image, you can zoom using your mouse wheel on any desktop computer or, pinch-zooming on mobile devices.

Under the image, you will see all the remaining information about the puzzle. Many are underlined for you, to go and see similar puzzles. If you click/tap hand-cut, you will see all hand-cut puzzles in IPDb.
At the very bottom, you will see the name of the person who submitted this puzzle. While all users of IPDb share all records in IPDb, the person who submitted the puzzle in the first place is the caretaker of this record.
This means that you will need to contact this person if you have any doubts about the information for this puzzle. To do that use the message icon next to the submitter's name. Clicking/tapping this icon will open up a small textbox where you can write, and later, send a message to the submitter.
Under the submitter's name, you will find the Rating section, where you can give a personal rating of this puzzle. We rate overall quality and difficulty. In addition, you can write your review of the puzzle.
Rating and reviewing puzzles you know is a very nice feature and it helps other users to decide if they should try/purchase this puzzle, so please do as many as you can. But only rate puzzles that you, yourself, actually know... See more here.
At the bottom of the dialogue, you will find all the reviews listed for this puzzle. If none are in my screenshot, but if the puzzle has reviews, here is where you can read all about it.
