When adding images to your puzzle entry, one of the most, important things, is the images. We want to add great, images as it is those, which, more than anything else, tell the story about the puzzle.
Images of the box are added because the box contains a lot of information about the puzzle, such as the name, artist, size, number of pieces, etc. are nearly always found on the box.
Photos of the included poster are also added as they represent the puzzle image in the best possible way; and of course, we want to add images of the finished puzzle - after all, we love seeing completed puzzles.
We recently added the option to categorise each of the images in this way, so now we have the following categories which can be selected for each puzzle image before uploading the photos:
- Finished Puzzle - only tag fully completed puzzle image
- Box - only tag the front of the box image
- Poster
- Mystery
Mystery is a special category of an image of the finished puzzle when the puzzle is a 'mystery puzzle'. We need this category, as we can then blur the image so that it is not shown to users unless they specifically ask for it, thereby keeping the mystery going for mystery puzzle enthusiasts.
The image add dialogue will look like this:

You will note the 4 new button icons for the 4 categories at the bottom right.
Please select the appropriate category for each one of the images you are due to upload by clicking/tapping on the image and then selecting one of the 4 image icons.
After images have been uploaded, when viewing a puzzle and using the full-screen viewer (when clicking/tapping on a specific image), you will see the same 4 buttons to the left, of the image. If you are the original Submitter of the puzzle or if no categorisation has been made yet, you can set the category of the image here as well; it looks like this:

The first 3 category allocations play a role in determining what type of image preference you have as the first image (see further down).
The 4th one, the mystery category, has an immediate impact, as this will blur the image for other users on their initial view. It will look like this:

If you want to see the image when it has been blurred, click/tap the Unlock icon in the centre of the image screen.
If you prefer to view images of the box over finished puzzles, or the opposite, you can set your preference under User Settings. (Cog Icon > Account > little man icon with the cog)
If the Submitter has tagged all of the images correctly, and if you prefer, for example, to see the box image first, you select "Box" from the image preference drop-down. This will automatically display the first box-tagged image for each puzzle when viewing, the puzzle lists.
