As per IPDb v. 3.7 released December 2025, you can do puzzle directly in the app. We know it is not the same thing as a 'real' puzzle, but it is a close as we can get from within an app....

You start a new puzzle from the burger menu, open the Games submenu and choose "Jigsaw"

This will take you to the Puzzle game

Initially a default image is displayed, that will be used to create the puzzle, but there are ways to change to another image, see later...

For now we just want to get started, so head to the burger menu in the upper right corner and find the "Play" sub menu

Here you can select the number of pieces to use for the puzzle, depending on your skill and screen size.

In
 this example I will choose 12 pieces.

This creates the puzzle and put the pieces out on the screen.

I can drag the pieces around and I can rotate them by tapping/clicking on them.

I see a pieces of the face, so I move it to the center and click it twice to rotate it 180 degrees.

I also see the other piece of the face, so I drag it to connect it to the first piece moved.

While I drag a piece its borders will glow in a golden color, and if I connect it successfully to another piece, the 2 pieces will glow green and can now be moved or rotated together.

The rest is just repatition until you see the finished result.

You can select a different image to use in several ways;

From the burger menu you can ask IPDb to select a random poster image from the vast collection of such images submitted to IPDb. Not all poster are equally well suited for doing a puzzle, but if you get one you do not like, just select another.

Also from the burger menu you can select a file from your desktop/mobile phone, but please observe same policy as when uploading other images to IPDb. The images will be visible to other users, so pick with care.

The burger menu also has an item to get back to the default image, which may change over time, but will start out as the Mona Lisa image just used.

Last but not least, if you see an image when browsing IPDb, and would like to try that as a puzzle, you can do so using the new button in the detail view

We hope you will welcome this little distration, whenever you need a break....
