Last Update 6 months ago
The new feature is called the Leaderboard and is started from the Burger Menu

The leader board will initially show you all recent games.

In this view you can see a thumbnail of the image used, how many pieces was used and the best time for this puzzle. In addition you can see when it was last played and who currently holds the record..
You have options to play the very same game, or to view information about the puzzle. More on that later.
In the upper right corner, you can toggle between seeing the most recent played puzzle (default) or to sort them by popularity, that is, which puzzles has been played the most times.
Viewing a specific size
At the very top of the screen you can use the tab bar to see only puzzles in a specific piece size.
This will display the puizzles in an ordered table

The puzzles are ordered by time of completion, fastest at the top.
The tables have 2 version, that you can toggle in betwen by use of the 2 button in the upper right corner.
Top Player will show the fastest player for all the puzzles with the specified piece count. World records will show you all images completed in this piece count, and who completed this specific image the fastest.

In this view you can also see how many attempts was made on this particular image and how many users attempted this puzzle. Those are the 2 numbers in the 📜 column.
See details for a puzzle
To see details on a particular puzzle, you can use the 'info' button in the 'All' tab or simply clicking the image in the table. This will show you relevant statistic of the puzzle

At the right side, you will see bigger image of the puzzle as well as the name of te puzzle, and if the puzzle originates from an IPDb entry, you can click the button "View Puzzle" to jump to the detauil view of that record.
The average PPM (short for Pieces per Minute) is shown and how many times the game has been played in total.
The current record holder is displayed and the world record time itself.
A button encourage you to challenge the record, and clicking this button will start the game with this puzzle. Make sure you are ready before you hit the button.
At the left column you can see a timeline of the evolution of the current world record. In this example 3 players have held the record until now. The time, the date and an avatar of the player taking over the record is shown in the graph.
Under the graph to the left, the attempts made are split up under all players flag. In the example above, none of the players have yet chosen a flag, so they are all listed Anonymous, but as players starts chosing their flag - perhaps by their nationality - a friendly regional rivalry can start.
As you can see, the current player (that would be me) are from Taiwan, and did not yet finish this puzzle, and hence is encouraged to do the puzzle to put Taiwan on the board.
To the right of the 'Regional Popularity' board you will find an indication of the level of difficulty this puzzle have. This is based on a complex calculation, involving all completed puzzles with the relevant amount of pieces. This is naturally not an exact science, as it is highly dependent on a large amount of users, but as more puzzles are solved by more users, this, over time will be good information for choosing the right puzzle for you.
At the top, you can hit the back button to return to the leaderboard.
Showing info for a User
To see how a certain user, perhaps yourself are doing, you can click the avatar in the leaderboard tables. This will show some interesting statistic about this user.

The layout of the info mirrors the one used for showing information of the puzzles.
At the right you will find information about the user.
At the top right you will see the evolution of the completion time for this user, for each pieces count the user are participating. This chart has a ledger at the top, and you can toggle display of each line in the graph by clicking the small color rectangles.
Under the graph on the left, you will see a list of all the puzzles where this user currently holds the worlkd record. If the user has more records than the initial view can hold, then you can expand the view by clicking the button.
Under the graph on the right, there is a similar indication of the level of this player. The math again is complicated and highly dependent on number of palyers, but it takes into account how this player is doing in the piece count brackets she participate in, compared to others. In this example, Sandra is in the top 25% for the type of puzzles (piece count) that she does.
Invite somebody to play a game
You can challenge other puzzle lovers to play a game of IPDb Jigsaw Puzzle game, it is done by providing them a link that will take them to the game.
You can get the link from the Burger Manu.

Bigger is better?
In the new version we will also allow you to play puzzles at 500 and even 1000 pieces. But naturally this is only for the very few.
To help doing big puzzles we have introduced a number of new features...
Zooming and panning
By using the mouse wheel you can zoom in and out, which will give you more space to operate on, which is needed when doing large puzzles, and can aslo help, even for normal sized puzzle games.
Once zoomed in, you can pan by touching "the table" and dragging it.
For mobile phone users, zoom is done by normal pinch gesture.
Saving and loading games
Doing a 1000 pieces puzzle can be a task which is better solved over several days, and for this reason we have added a save game option.
You find it in the burger menu

You will be asked to provide a label for the save, as you can have as many unfinished games as you please, and the label will make it easier to find the right one

As you can see above the Load game option is also in the burger menu, click this option and select the game you wish to load from the dropdown.

From this dialog you can also delete previously saved games, that you no longer need, to keep your list tidy.
