Organizing your collection of puzzles in personal folders is a cornerstone in the IPDb solution. And sometimes you create a folder so perfect, that you would like to share it with other users.
This could be the case, if you manage to create a great collection within a certain subject, or if you have a folder with puzzles that you are willing to trade.
In any case, sharing a folder is done from the folder settings dialog

Which will take you to the folder settings dialog

Towards the bottom of this dialog, you will see the Access control section. To share a folder, simply hit the "Manage" button.
This will take you to the Folder Access/Sharing dialog

At the very top of this dialog, you can write the names of the users you want to share this folder with. Just start typing their names and a list will appear from where you can select the specific users.
Once you share your folder with a user, she will receive a message that your folder is not available to her. In the text field you can write a short message, so they will know, why you are sharing the folder with them.
By default useers are granted view access, so they can merely see the puzzles in the folder. In most cases this is the safe option when sharing your folder.
However, you can grant the users permission to add to your folder, or even to delete puzzles from the folder.

By default users cannot see your private fields, for the puzzles in the shared folder, however, if you tick the checkbox, these values will also be available for them to view.
