How IPDb came about
Mid 2023, the idea was floated to create a puzzle resource that would be of benefit to the entire puzzle community. Jigsaw wiki had started a great resource years before, but sadly was no longer supported after 2021, leaving a huge void for puzzle enthusiasts.
A bunch of puzzle lovers from all over the world got together to discuss options as to what could be done, and with the help of a retired technical developer, who offered his services pro-bono to get the project running, the seed was planted for IPDb - The Internet Puzzle Database.
After months of development and testing, the first iterations of IPDb went live in October 2023, and has been growing month after month due to puzzlers from across the globe adding their puzzle collections for the benefit of all.
Nearly 30000 records have been added in less that 2 years - a real testament to the altruistic nature of those who have been willing to help build and enhance the database to what it is today.
IPDb has a small, dedicated team of volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain and improve the platform, keeping costs to a minimum so that IPDb remains free for all users. Unlike many online resources, IPDb is completely ad-free, ensuring a seamless experience without distractions.
Why contribute to IPDb?
IPDb is more than just a collection of puzzles—it’s a shared resource for all puzzlers, built by contributors who believe in making puzzle information accessible to everyone.
Why IPDb Matters
Puzzle details are often scattered across the internet, hidden in private trackers, or lost in social media groups. IPDb centralizes this information in a searchable, free-to-use database, ensuring that puzzle knowledge is available to all, not just stored in personal collections.
Preserving Puzzles for the Future
Many puzzles disappear from the market and internet over time, and pre-internet puzzles don't seem to feature much online, making it difficult for puzzlers to find details about them. IPDb gives every puzzle a footprint, ensuring that even discontinued puzzles remain documented for future enthusiasts.
The Power of Community Contributions
The more users contribute—by adding puzzles, rating difficulty, and writing reviews—the better and more valuable IPDb becomes for everyone. Every contribution helps build a stronger, more comprehensive puzzle database.
Accessible Across All Platforms
IPDb is available on PC, iOS, Android, and web browsers, allowing users to access and update puzzle information seamlessly across multiple devices.

IPDb Features
Unlike most private puzzle trackers, where data is stored locally on your device, or a fee is required to have it stored in the cloud, IPDb is stored online, so all puzzle records remain safe even if you change devices—no more losing valuable information when upgrading or switching platforms!
